Members of a coastal community on the north coast of Java, Indonesia, learn to adapt to environmental change, including sea level rise, land subsidence and the impact of climate change.

Sea level rise and changing weather patterns threaten the coastal city of Semarang in the north of the Java island in Indonesia, causing its port to gradually sink. As part of the Mangroves for the Future initiative, in which IUCN is a partner, sea level rise is being tracked by scientists who can then provide hard data about the seriousness of the threat., which will allow them to issue a strong call for action to the government.
